OVERVIEW:
Wizzz Magazine was printed quarterly by Wizzard Publishing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. With a tag line, "Kustom Kulture meets
Old School", the magazine was published by Gregory Stokesberry
("The Wizz" or "The Wizzard"). It was produced in color in the "little pages" or digest-sized format and highlighted traditional rods and customs
in the area from Denver to Detroit and Duluth to Dallas. Besides the extensive use of photographs, it
also had event coverage, low brow art and scale models. Wizzz came to market with the resurgence of kustom kulture
that started in the mid-1990s and continued well into the 2000s.
"The Wizz" started the Flying Eyeball Motor Club around the same time the magazine, and he organized various car shows in Davenport and Cedar Rapids. He was a larger than life character who died at age 66 in April, 2020.
