OVERVIEW:
Speed and Custom was the follow-on title to Car Speed and Style. It was
published by Irwin Stein and Magnum Publications in New York from August, 1961 to August, 1966.
The magazine started as a monthly issue, but in February, 1963 it switched to every other month. It also started as a small-sized format, but in June, 1963 it used a larger print format. Content was initially focused on rods and customs, included "how to" features, and occasionally highlighted a drag racing vehicle or topic. Over the next few years, articles featured factory performance vehicles and road tests. In October, 1966, it was re-titled as Speed and Supercar.

PUBLICATION DATA:
The publisher only provided two years of net paid circulation
detail (1964 and 1965). Annual net paid circulation was reported to be 341,160 print issues. The magazine was in
the #7 or #8 position among all automotive titles with reported data.
CONTENT COMPLETENESS:
There were 41 issues printed from August, 1961 through August, 1966. All cover images and table of content pages are complete.
