OVERVIEW:
Rebel Rodz was published by Paisano Publications. This title was part of the wave in the early 2000s of "kustom kulture" lifestyle car magazines featuring kool and nasty rat rods and custom bikes, hot babes, and lifestyle oriented events. Although it appealed to certain readers, the traditional hot rodders thought it had poor how-to articles, tattoed-up "broads", and unprofessional looking rods.

It had its roots in the motorcycle magazine Easyriders. The three paisanos who founded it -- Joe Teresi, Lou Kimzey and Mil Blair -- produced a unique magazine in 1970 that was biker lifestyle-driven and included irreverent humor and madcap content. When sexy images or tattoos were added, sales shot through the roof. This formula proved successful for Paisano Publication in various adult lifestyle or sub-culture oriented automotive magazines such as Rebel Rodz and Tailgate. It also worked well for the core part of Paisano's motorcyle and tattoo lifestyle magazines including such titles as Easyriders, Biker, Tattoo, V-Twin and In the Wind.

Rebel Rodz had a regular print cadence through 2012 as a bi-monthly title, then became more of a quarterly magazine in 2013 and 2014. The last year appears to have been 2015 when the print cadence slowed, the publisher issued two "book-a-zines" with 100 plus pages of rods and "betties", and the publisher offered a "double-pack" where Rebel Rodz was provided with a subscription of Tattoo magazine. Clearly the end of print publication was near.
