OVERVIEW:
All American Drags Illustrated was published from 1966 to 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. It covered drag racing
and all the major
sanctioning bodies: AHRA, NHRA, UDRA, and the NASCAR drag division. It was 46 pages long and sold for $.50.
OWNERSHIP:
All American Drags Illustrated was a re-titling of Midwest Drags. This
occurred when the original editor, Louis Levine, either sold the business to publisher Lloyd Derrer, or when
Midwest Drags went out of business and the rights purchased by Mr. Derrer. Numbering continued from the previous title.
The publishing address was 2308 W. 79th Street. This address was also shared by Universal Speed Shop. The editor was John W. Lutzo, and the associate editor was Ed Rachanski. Mr. Rachanski had a full and interesting life, and more on him can be found in his obituary.
