All American Drags Illustrated was published from 1966 to 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. The publishing address was 2308 W. 79th Street. This address was also shared by Universal Speed Shop.
The publisher was Lloyd Derrer, the editor was John W. Lutzo, and the associate editor was Ed Rachanski. Mr. Rachanski had a full and interesting life, and more on him can be found HERE.
All American Drags Illustrated was a re-titling of Midwest Drags. This occurred when the original editor, Louis Levine, either sold the business to Lloyd Derrer, or Midwest Drags went out of business and the rights purchased by Mr. Derrer. Numbering continued from the previous title.
But the magazine was excellent and covered all the major sanctioning bodies: AHRA, NHRA, UDRA, and the NASCAR drag division. It was 46 pages long and sold for $.50.
