OVERVIEW
1001 Truck & Van Ideas was started by publisher Gordon Behn and Argus Publishers Corporation. The original business was at
12301 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, California.
It began as a quarterly title, but quickly moved to bi-monthly then monthly. The first issue was Winter, 1975, and the editor was George Elliott who also oversaw Off-Road and Volkswagen Greats titles.
In 1979, the magazine was re-titled to Sport Trucking. Numbering continued with the new title.
Argus had a slew of other competitors with light duty van and truck content including Vans & Trucks and Truckin'.

Argus provided net paid circulation data to
The Standard Periodical Directory for 1988 and 1989. But production ceased in 1979, and it is a mystery
why data were provided a decade later. More information can be

CONTENT COMPLETENESS:
A total of 40 issues were produced from Winter, 1975 through August, 1979. All cover images are complete.
