OVERVIEW: VW & Porsche was published by Argus Publishers Corporation. It was a re-titling of
Volkswagen Greats. This was to expand coverage of the Porsche brand.
This magazine was published six times per year until the last year when it was published monthly. Numbering
from Volkswagen Greats continued with this title.
The title was merged and co-branded with European Automobiles with the October, 1986 issue. This saw the introduction of more
prestige and performance European vehicles, and content seemed to favor Porsche. This shift culminated with the re-titling to
European Car after the June, 1991 issue. In this last iteration, the magazine
expanded coverage to include Italian and British prestige brands along with German brands such as Audi.
