Sport Buggies was published monthly by Magazine Distributors International Circulation Corp in Reseda, California. The publisher was Robert F. Ames, the same person who published Four Wheeler.
Like most automotive-related magazines, the content focused on off-road racing, new products and testing, vehicle road tests, performance upgrades and how-to technical tips. The publishing schedule was bi-monthly 1968 and switched to monthly in 1969. Its life was short, and the content was later folded into Four Wheeler.
Mr Ames also published the book, Western Treasures Notebook of Lost Mines and Buried Treasure in 1966, and he published a monthly magazine titled Western Treasures that featured ghost towns, old mines, treasure hunting, etc. This was started in 1965 or 1966 and was published about 10 years. Then retitled as Western & Eastern Treasures, it lasted into the 1980s.
