OVERVIEW:
Racing Wheels was published by Fergus T. O'Connor at 3247 Upton Avenue North, Minneapolis. It was a small format
magazine with a broad coverage of hot rods, midgets, stock cars, "big" cars, motorcycles, outboards and sports cars.
The first issue was in May 1950, and it is unknown when print ended because Mr. O'Connor used a peculiar numbering scheme. The volume number increased from 1950 to 1951, but the series reference was a sequential number that kept increasing. This pattern was repeated starting in 1952 and carried over through 1955. If we are understanding the numbering correctly, then the set is likely complete. But if he used a traditional numbering method, then we are far from complete.
Fergus even got himself quoted in his local newspaper HERE.
