This is the third iteration of this title. It was published by McMullen-Yee quarterly from Winter 1991 through Fall 1993. Publishing switched to bi-monthly in 1994 and continued until its demise in March 2007.
Tom McMullen was the publisher, and Ken Yee became his business partner in the 1980s. Other titles in the company's portfolio included Street Rodder magazine.
The content focus was on custom cars and included hot-to's and biographies of key influencers in the industry. It featured the latest technology yet honored traditional customs and styles.
In June, 1995, the title was sold to K-III Inc. upon Tom McMullen's death earlier that year. It became part of the McMullen Argus publishing division.
