OVERVIEW:
Sports Car Graphic was resurrected in 1979 by Motor Trend magazine. John
Dianna was the editor, and Robert E. Brown was the publisher. The original version was folded
into Motor Trend when it ended in 1971. So it was fitting to re-use the title under the Motor Trend banner.
Content included reviews and road tests of performance cars available in the late 1970s and early 1980s, but it also included historically significant cars and racing events, guidelines for buying a sports car, and, occasionally, a technical article on such topics as supercharging.
It is uncertain why this title ended. But it should be noted that several new titles emerged in the early 1980s in this category with distinct focus on historical racing, classic and vintage sports cars, and/or the collector market.
